Identify this .22LR

Hello all, just got this .22
Neither the buyer or myself knows what manufacturer it is. It says "Kal 022 LR on top of the barrel right by the receiver. There is a proof mark? Of N 75 on the left side of the barrel.

Check the pictures.....
Any/all info you can offer is greatly appreciated!

Kal for Kaliber - German perhaps, but that does not look like a German proof mark.

Scandinavians also spell Calibre Kaliber..... Austria also.
The proof mark looks like an N over something else (letters on either side). Wonder if 75 is a year stamp?

Nothing on, or under the butt plate.
And yes, the proof is an "N" over something. Can't tell what it is.

Well I don't think this is much help, but it looks similar, in many ways, to a bolt action I used to have, a "Gaucher", which was manufactured in France. That was back in the registration days and the RCMP told me that it was the only one registered at, at that time anyway. It was a neat little rifle, average quality.

But if it was French I would expect it to be stamped Cal 022 LR, not Kal

Woodwork screams Russian, take the action out of the stock. Sometimes info is stamped in the bbl channel.

Nothing in the stock. I've had the thing apart and looked everywhere.
The receiver and trigger group/block/housing is aluminum.
