I bought some 7.62x54r to disassemble for the bullets to use in reloading for my 303.
I bought a paper package of 125 rounds. It was 1/4 of a spam can, and two cans came to a wooden box.
The bullets are 147-150 grains, and there is about 44.8 grains of powder in each. bullets are .3105ish, and boat tail. They are also magnetic.
Headstamp reads 61 over 11 I think?
Here are pics.

So I think its chinese/Norinco, made in 2011? Obviously has some steel in it. Steel core? or just a steel jacketed lead core?
The one thing that really surprised me was how little powder there is. Looking at load data for 7.62x54r it seems to be below most starting loads and well below surplus ammo which seems to be 50-51 grains... Is Norinco just cheaping out on powder to save an extra buck? Or just different powders that can achieve similar performance with less powder used? Has anyone chrono'd this stuff?
Has anyone used these components for reloading their 303?
