Identify this ammo??

I found approx 17 rounds of the following ammo in a bag full of .303's when I bought an Enfield some time ago.

They have the markings lVl , the letters 71 with a circled cross. They have to be .308's as that is my assumption and the bullets have red tips??

They are on stripper clips that have CIDAQ-65 on the back.

Any idea where this ammo came from or what rifle the stripper clips are for?

As I do not plan on buying a .308(if thats what they are) is there any worth to them and the stripper clips, as I do not plan on keeping them.

.308 tracers made in 1971 in Canada. Have fun shooting them. The stripper clips are just standard clips for 7.62 NATO.

Just don't use them in a wooded area that has a high fire index warning.

I'm sure there are some .308 shooters around that would like to buy them from yah...try the exchange forum.

BTW most GunNuts buy ammo for guns they don't have -yet-.

I buy as much ammo for guns I don't own so that I have to buy a gun that uses them...

sounds like someone de-linked a few tracers out of a belt and just used a fes strippers they had handy.

When the fire hazard was high on the range we had to remove the tracer rounds to prevent grass fires.
