Hello, going through my loose parts and cannot determine what this front sight is or what it came on.

It’s a 3/8” dovetail and measures a 5/8” (0.625”) width and 0.375” height. Looks to be stamped “Marble”, but hard to make it out for certain. This sight is also reversible and can be installed with either a gold or white 1/16” bead facing the shooter.

I’ve search online and cannot find anything on a 5/8” width, reversible front sight.

Any help identifying this is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for the info. With that I was able to find additional info on the web for this sight from past Marble advertisements. Looks like it might be quite old, but not sure how old. It’s kinda neat, I didn’t know that once installed you can lift the bead up and flip around the other way to use either the gold or white bead. There’s a spring mounted in the sight to allows this, hence the rivet on the underside.

Yes, definitely a barrel mount and not a ramp mounted sight.

Long discontinued but a really good sight. The old makers; Marbles, Lyman, Redfield etc. made excellent products, all steel and built to last a lifetime. Tough to find good open sights on modern rifles. NOS sights can still be found at bargain prices sometimes.
