I want to say 7400, as I don't think the 742 was ever chambered for 7mm-08. Judging by the script, there was an overrun of 6mm mags and the factory added the others after. Regardless, it will work in the 742 for any of the listed.

Thanks gentlemen.

My guess with the multiple calibre stamp was that it was an aftermarket, or extra magazine, which is probably why it was around the farm.
Thanks again.

Tim

So, say a guy (hypothetically) has a 10 shot mag that looks like the one in the picture above, he's actually holding a legal mag for a pump gun, not a prohib one from a semi-auto....right? No markings on the mag at all.

Does it have the last shot hold-open feature on it?
Colyer made some 10 shot mags for the 742/760's and the Winchester Model 88 and 100's.
There also was a company (Eagle?) that made plastic mags for them.

528% sure its 742 remington semi auto mag. Try and find the rifle. My Dad has one and we both freaking love it. feel perfect in the hands. Not very heavy. Accurate, reliable, and I shot my first deer with it. I know lots of people hate them but i love it!

oh and we have 2 mags, one with that little switch thing at the bottom and one without. what is that little switch thing for?
