Does not seem to have any markings on it at all, other than the Hawkins recoil pad

Take it apart and photograph the flats of the action and the underside of the barrels, and from the proof marks. which must be clearly reproduced, all will be revealed.

Appears to be guild gun (no maker marked on it), sometimes referred to as "just another Belgian Clunker" or JABC.

Proofs show it to be (chambered & intended) for 2 1/2" shells.

Go easy on her.

Assuming the gun is tight on the face it would be perfectly safe to shoot. It looks as if the hinge and locking bolt could use some lubrication. The barrels often have the nominal dimensions marked in mm so that you can calculate the choke constrictions vs. the bore diameter.
The 65-12 markings are 12 ga./ 65 mm shell length fired or roughly 2 1/2 inch.
You can buy 12 ga. 2 1/2 inch Kent Gamebore Pure Gold shells from Wholesale Sports or load your own. Just be careful to find specific low pressure loads listed in a manual if you are going to load your own, to be kind to the old girl (and yourself).
Take it for a walk this fall and collect a Sharptail with it.

looks just like my sxs other than mine is stamped 12-70 for 2 3/4 shells, mine on the left barrel says "JB RONCE FILS. LIEGE" lots of these guns where made buy little shops all over the place, i shoot mine all the time and it is awaiting grouse season.

uh oh Belgian? I suppose I could take it off your hands for you and offer it a warm place to sleep at night, ill PM you my address, no thanks necessary ;)

honestly though looks to be a rather sharp piece, great score!
