Just a few weeks ago it showed over 70 in stock,
This morning it was 32, and after my purchase 31.

Lately I have purchase the nicest M305 I have ever seen, I have owned 4 in the past, and this one is really nice compared to them.
No made in china/Norinco logo, barrel already almost 100% indexed (was not reindexed as F/H still welded), gas lock already gets hand tight at 4 oclock etc...
An M305 is an M305, but still, for a Chinese gun, purchased used under 400$, I couldn't be happier.

Was going to skip the IDF kit after all and just get a bolt (get headspace down), rear sight, and fiberglass stock.
Then I realised that at 650$, the IDF kit would give me lot's of extra parts to play with so I jumped in on it.

All this to say, I wonder once these 31 kits will be sold, if there will be more of if this is the end of that run...

EDIT : Disregard my post, seems like they play around with these inventory numbers.
Was only 31 available this morning, now 50+ available.

We just assembled / indexed / prepared a couple of these kits on Norinco recently in Oshawa M14 Clinic....if you are sitting on the fence, there is a pile of expertise here on CGNutz that can help with your dream IDF kitted project!

Cheers, Barney

I wasn’t going to swap barrels, but we’ll see, if there was an Ottawa clinic it would be easier!
Perhaps at end of April PR clinic we could squeeze 5 mins M14 talk in between 2 beers at Kelseas

On that Saturday 27 April 2019 evening at Danny’s Steak House ensure you sit next to me and we can chat M14 fun all evening long! We actually had a client from Halifax fly into the GTA and attend the M14 clinic at CDN Gunworkx in Oshawa for that January 2019 clinic. He could wait no longer for a clinic to be arranged in the Atlantic region! What a dedicated M14 lover!

Cheers, Barney

Danny's Steak house we will be, and M14 (and recent PR event) we shall speak of!
Good times ahead can't wait!

Even though I participate in NCRRA precision rifle practices and service rifle practices,
There is something about the M14 platform that just keeps me coming back for more!

There is only approx. 50 M14 parts kits left and when they are gone that is it, there will be no more. A dealer was going to purchase a bunch and changed his mind, hence the fluctuation in numbers. We will do a stock take when the numbers get a bit lower as we have broken up several kits for parts and I don't think the count is accurate.

I understand now thanks for the clarification,
It seems like i have chosen the right timing to grab a kit,
As i do not see them being available in 2020 at that rate!

Got my kit, was full of surprises.
Barrel was obviously changed not that long ago before becoming a kit,
As the Flash hider and gas block show lot's of finish wear, and barrel has a deep rich bluing without any scratches or wear at all on it.
Stock has absolutely no hairline cracks of any kind and looks structurally sound.

For now I did a quick assemble (used all IDF parts except for barrel, gas assembly), see if my Chinese barrel can at least do 3 moa, if it's the case I may shoot it as is and just wait for a Barney clinic to change the barrel.
Also have the S&J match op rod spring guide and spring in there to help.
If not i'll get into barrel swap myself.

IDF kit came to 700$ all included, and used M305 complete without stock was 380$.
A few years ago I remember building up an M305 for much more than that.
If and once I sell a few stock M305 parts we will be possibly looking at a sub 1000$ project.

Send me the M305 barreled receiver all stripped of gas cylinder parts, and the USGI barrel!

I can swap the barrels on that M305 receiver and drop in that USGI bolt to see how it all comes together. The interesting observation I have to share is that for the past 15 years, I’ve offered to mic 2 or 3 fired brass cases. Over the years most of the chamber sizes are averaging 12 to 15 thou above the 1.630” SAMMI GO Gauge.

Once I index on a USGI chrome lined barrel (cannot Be chamber finish reamed) then the fired brass mic’s to about 6 thou. Smaller chamber or shorter really. With a 6 thou stretch , I don’t mind full length sizing, but that’s just me!

So if you want to install that USGI barrel on the Norinco receiver, get rid / unscrew/ drill out / hammer drill out that S2pid set screw Ask Ceejay here on the forum why I cannot stand that Zhinese high school shop class modification! Hahahahaha.

You can mail me the barreled receiver and newer barrel with bolt and I can get this done for you. For you avid M14 lovers here, I can do this for you or you can use the talented folks all across this country here on CGNutz to get your dream M14 build happening.

Here comes the $$ cost! Hahahahaha

Absolutely nothing because I’m retired now and merely running matches on the weekends. M14 work is my middle of the week filler so to speak. I don’t mind....it’s just that set screw that will drive me to drink.....and I don’t drink, since leaving the Battalion!

John or M14Medic is backed up for work for several weeks. You see he does very beautiful work that is way too complex for me hence his work load is crazy busy, I’m merely a tweaker, and many of you out there are doing that stuff on your own without me, that’s great to see and hear!

Cheers and regards!

That's a very generous offer Barney, thanks a lot i will take you up on it.
Since this is a side project, distracting me from my main competition platforms!, i may as well bring it with me to PR1 and i could leave it with you there along with some money to ship back, and a bottle of (legally) locally distilled liquor right here in Ottawa!
My friend has got quite the trade, instead of reloading ammo he reloads his own liquor, good times indeed. It's no moonshine he's now LCBO branded after many years of hard work... anyways back to M14.

My USGI bolt works well with my M305 receiver so far, it will not close on 1.638'', but will close on 1.634''. (i have notched the 2 gauges because i was too lazy to take ejector out)
In reality i should be very close to 7.62 NATO GO (1.6355''), which would make more sense to reload from.

With a 4 to 7 thou stretch from 308 GO right now, i wouldn't be scared AT ALL to shoot factory 308.
And even with reloads, with my precision MIC, i could set it for a 4 thou bump and not bump it all the way back to it's GO number.

I would still prefer reload from 7.62 if in that territory, to limit it's initial stretch and reload many times (including annealing).

And yes i will take care of that screw for you, i remember removing one when we we're supposed to get an M14 clinic going on in Gatineau.
Needed a new screw driver with and extra hard blade, man did i have to torque it hard to remove it!

Yes, by all means bring that barreled receiver, new barrel, and USGI bolt to the PR1 event on 27-28 April and we can get it done for you. Then I can mail that parcel to you once we are all done.

Once we set up that Norinco receiver in my vise, it’s only a few minutes....no kidding!

See you then at PR1 in Garrison Petawawa!

Cheers, Barney

Are the Israeli sniper stocks reinforced in any way? Also, do they require bedding, or would they be improved by bedding? Thanks.

Yes see you soon!
Can i bring my gas assembly already bolted to barrel also, do you still do gas lock swaps?
Right now this gas lock is finger tight at 7 oclock and if i reverse it 12 oclock, no go either way!
Cheers

For the number of times you are going to remove or disassemble your rig, your are better off not glassing that combination.

Glass your stock if you are a crazy M14 lover like I am (did this lots before). Honestly if you are shooting PR matches then by all means glass that rig into place. If you are a hunter or casual shooter , then leave things be. Back in the 80’s we glassed all our competition rigs in preparation for shooting at Camp Perry, Ohio. In the 90’s we soon learned that a box Stock AR15 Hbar will beat any USMC McMillan stocked M14, literally. Just look at the match results from the National Matches results from 1997-1998 when the US Army MTU employing match tuned M16A2 rifles shooting the 80 gr VLD Sierra MK booolits destroyed the USMC teams with their accurized M14 rigs. That sealed the deal for tuned or match prepared M16A2 NM generation to take over Camp Perry’s NM preferences.

Glassing in your rig is fun especially with USGI stocks, they could use a bit of stiffening up especially in the front end but like I said before, unless you are out shooting my PR matches or something like a PRS Steel Match then the process might be annoying and onerous for your needs!

Does everyone need to do such an improvement (results may vary, too) ?? Not everyone!

Cheers, Barney
