I just came across this on the Leupold web site, if the deal seems too good check here to ensure it is a real Leupold. This may be redundant for some but it may help some of the newer shooters getting into the tactical rifle game. Obviously many people don't know the difference since Leupold says that they have been receiving increasing numbers of counterfeits for warranty work.

That boat has come and sailed. You're more likely to buy a full price clone if you deal on e-bay. The sports stores couldn't be happier. A lot of ppl turn to them for buying expensive stuff because of this scam.
Just looking at the serial# should edify one.

SOme of the Clone MK 4s I have seen use a Windage turret for the Elevation adjustment. That is easy to spot as the orientation of the numbers and hashmarks are wrong........

SKBY.
