And we miss shooting with ya! The only chance I get to see you anymore is by coming here. :D

Actually Nat (not sure if you remember him) is running a defensive pistol/IDPA type match on the 4th Saturdays, but we're not IDPA sanctioned. We use the IDPA rule book, but throw some 3-gun in there as well. The schedule is up on the Bigfork website.

We had our first match in March and ran the classifier. I shot SSP Expert with my Beretta M9 after not having shot in 2007. :dancingbanana: 'Course now it doesn't mean anything. :(

Regrettably, the 4th Saturday conflicts with our matches (which are on the 4th Sunday). Too much for one weekend.......

I was on idpaforum.com and there's a fellow working on getting an affiliated club going in Great Falls. (I'll have to keep an eye on that development.)

Shot the classifier in SSP and ESR today (in the rain!). Made Expert in SSP! :bump:

(and shaved 10 seconds off my previous attempt in ESR last September  )

40% there to 5 Gun Expert. :dancingbanana:

Joe T. (Corp. Punishment) made Sharpshooter in CDP late last week and I'll be FAXing in his '5 Gun Sharpshooter' form in to IDPA HQ tomorrow when I go back to work. Congratulations Joe!

I spent the afternoon on the range today and shot the classifier in CDP and SSR. I managed to shave a few seconds off my previous scores in CDP but not enough to move up from Sharpshooter. :( (Still need to trim off 8.58 seconds)

....but I did make Expert in SSR with a score of 123.17!!! :dancingbanana: (two more Divisions to go for '5 Gun Expert' )

Joe T., his son Dan, Ed L. (a new ATHL member) and I headed out to MVMA last evening to shhot the Classifier.

I am now a CDP 'Expert'! :bump:

80% there to becoming an IDPA 5 Gun Expert. :dancingbanana: (Only need to shave off 14.53 Seconds from my last/best ESR score :bangHead:)

And Joe is now 20% there. He achieved 'Expert' class in SSP during last evening's session. Well done Joe!

Ed shot a 'Marksman' score in SSP and Dan achieved 'Novice' class in SSR.

Well I'm 63 and missed Marksman, on my last leg by .50 seconds. Can't hardly wait to get home and get the needle over that. Will try with Rick's revolver next year.

Take Care

Bob

I've been remiss in keeping this thread up to date. Joe T.'s son Dan attained '5 Gun Marksman' classification last September and is this first Canadian Junior :canadaFlag: (he's 13), and as far as we know the first junior ever, to attain a 5 Gun classification.

Dan's dad Joe also bcomes the first Canadian :canadaFlag: '5 Gun Expert'. He borrowed my S&W 610 and made Expert in ESR last September as well. Congratulations.

Steve M. (Tanner51 here on CGN) attained '5 Gun Sharpshooter' in November and is about to submit his application to IDPA HQ.

Jim S. (Jim S here on CGN) is 80% there to being a '5 Gun Marksman'. If the weather holds, he and I will head out this Sunday and hopefully he'll get classified Marksman in ESR (I'll be lending him my S&W 610. Geez, more rounds get put through it by others than by me!) and the he'll be the fifth member of the Alberta Tactical Handgun League to be '5 Gun classified'.

I still have to make Expert in ESR to move up to '5 Gun Expert' but I think I'll wait until after the Cherokee Wheel Gun Championship (http://www.nvl.com/blogs/wheelgun/index.html ) in May before I make an attempt :D .

Pretty soon, ATHL will have the most '5 Gun Classified' shooters in all of IDPA! :dancingbanana: http://www.idpa.com/5gun.asp
