I hear what you are saying and I know I would be comfortable with getting dropped in running, but the two guys I had pumped up for the clinic aren't so.
For someone who hasn't shot an action shooting event before, it is intimidating to them. I asked if they wanted to now go check the match out and maybe give it a try instead and they said no. The clinic was more "accessible" to them, if you want to call it that, for giving IDPA a try.
I've seen this before in the service rifle matches at Spruce I shoot at. I've asked about 10 people if they wanted to go rifle shooting and as soon as they find out a match is involved, they think they might "get embarrassed" or not know what to do when, and back out. Only someone really gung ho, and usually with some experience knowing what to expect, ends up coming along.
All I'm saying is I thought your clinic was a excellent idea to introduce someone new to IDPA and an easier sell.
I look forward to when you do reschedule the clinic. As far as I'm personally concerned, I'll happily be checking a match out sometime the next two months regardless.
Cheers!
