7 COF's for Chilliwack Club's 1st outdoor Monthly match for 2010. Tons of fun!!! Thanks to Katana for posting his high resolution videos. Here is COF #7

Well I just stumbled across the right thread...

I am ready to get into IDPA, and am eager to do so. Who, what, when, where, why.

What qualifications are required, what equipment is allowed, where do I go and how do I start? I need a full rundown for lower mainland, as I have a friend who is highly interested as well. Is there a website, contact or some other place to get started?

Much appreciated.

Here is the link to the place: http://www.chilliwackfishandgame.com
You'll need holster certification, first match won't require IDPA membership, then - you gotta join and it's US$60 a year or US$165 for 3 years thru IDPA US site. There are fees - range and insurance -cad$20 total for a match, if there is no membership.
Contact either Ken M. or Kim G. for futher info.

just a tip for video,....I usually start filming at the "R-U ready" command.

Appreciate the suggestion. Purposely film activities - pre and post shoot -mainly for those viewers who are not from IDPA. Safety is paramount, but can be administered in a very relaxed and social setting. Happy shooting!!!

I put them up on you tube after the match and hade to get up at 4 the next morning so I didn't have time to edit. They are a bit long so I'll try to edit them soon.

There is going to be another mini match this Sunday at 9 am. People are welcome to come out and see that's it's about.

If you are coming out, drop me a PM. Our gate is normally locked so if I know your coming out I/we can keep an eye out for ya.

May 2 IDPA Monthly Club Match

7 CoF's were set-up providing tremendous amounts of fun, action and laughs. Rain was a threat throughout the day but came down lightly during the last 4 CoF's. With all participants helping with set-ups and take-downs - Ken & Kim (thanks again for prepping all the CoF's & logistics) have never looked better at the end of the day. Katana will soon post the other 5 CoF's.
This club event included, one new participant and three interested spectators. For all those who may be interested to participate, there will be an IDPA classifier held on May 19th. The SO's attending that event will be available to check anyone out for equipment/safety so they can be cleared to shoot in the June 6th monthly match. Happy shooting!!!!:canadaFlag::ar15:

Yeah, I will post some soon. I'm out of town right now and have the vid's on YouTube but it is too hard, na I say impossable to edit them using my iPhone. So once I get back this weekend I will try to get that done.

went and played tonight, just practiced one stage a few times and then some free fire at the end. Man it's been ages since I did a tac reload with retention, but it flowed just fine.
Thanks to the guys for letting me use my IPSC gear, still waiting on a holster and mag pouches for IDPA, but I did wear a jacket over all of it, which, at least for the draw, is much much slower with a race holster, you're paranoid the jacket is going to remove the gun from the holster on the draw so you go waaaay slower.

Glad you enjoyed the experience. I'll be down later this month and will get to one of the Wednesday shoots. See you there.

Things have been pretty busy the last few weeks but I'm planning on making the drive out to join the fun this coming Wednesday. Gotta try out that nice new holster and belt I made with my new leathercraft skills.

Well after being gone all week and having a day off today I had some time to edit and post some videos of the match.
