IDPA in Ontario

All that matters is that you have fun. As Bob (Canuck44) and I have posted on several different threads, and he and I both agree, fun is the most important thing. CDP, IDPA, ODPL, just get out and have some fun.

WOO WOO WOO, "Ontario shooters can be a bunch of good guys"! Man come on out and see how much fun we actually are. If you come out to my club to shoot CDP and try to make it not fun, I will personally take your hand and walk you to the door.

In all seriousness, anyone interested in shooting CDP, drop me a PM and I will give you directions and the dates.

Occasionally it is hard to be the shooter with a heckle squad behind you and you laughing so hard while competing...

Seen people so psyched up when coming up to the line that they missed that they left their handgun at the safe zones. Same for charging up mags.

The veterans that forget to disengage safeties are good for a chortle or three as well...

I try my hardest to avoid this. Nothing pisses me off more on a CDP night when I as the range officer am having to talk over the asshats behind us who feel they have to yell because it is difficult to talk about last nights supper or the size of some womens chest over my commands to the shooter currently on the line waiting to shoot. For me, I get a great feeling of satisfaction when I put the shooter on the line on hold, then simply turn around and without saying a word myself and the other RO/score keeper just stop and stare at the group of iggnorant morons waiting their turn to shoot, when they finally understand what we am doing and why we am doing it. Then they go back out into the lounge with their tails between their legs.

I love this one, I get a lot of milage out of this when a shooter does this, all in fun of course.

It certainly is, especailly when the veteran is a know all head up his ass meat head! That makes it all the better.

In that sort of case I agree, what I'm talking is the heckle squads for the mishaps such as the forgotten gun on the line, forgetting to disengage the safety.

During a the actual running of a CoF that I have been witness to, there is very rare talk that comes anywhere close to the volume levels you describe. Any heckling I have witnessed is just at the very beginning when stuff like that usually occurs and after the run when they like to point out the "gaffs" :)
