IDPA In Ontario?

Hey Folks,

Forgive me if I am asking a dumb question, but I am brand new to action shooting sports. Currently I am in the process of getting my black badge.

I have always been interested in shooting IDPA, but have never got around to it. In the last few months, several people have told me that there is no more IDPA in Ontario. That said, it looks like the IDPA website is alive and well and I see lots of messages on this forum discussing matches and such. Are the people telling me about IDPA in Ontario mistaken???

Yes. Who were you talking to. Two new clubs just recently affiliated in Ontario, seems to be a pretty good indication things are alive and well.

Great thanks Bob. I don't want to drop any names. There wasn't anything mean-spirited behind them telling me this. They were just misinformed and I will let them know. Thanks again!
 
We are starting up an IDPA club at the Eastern Ontario Shooting Club just east of Ottawa, we're in fact holding a New Shooters Orientation course this month on the 23rd and 24th.
 
Parry Sound is one of the new affiliations. We practice every Thursday night at 17:30 and will hold a match a month rotating disciplines. Look for us on or about the 3rd Saturday each month. This month is a Classifier match, next month Bianchi style Action Pistol followed in May by a Cowboy Action Match. All shooters welcome, please RSVP to me by PM.
 
I've heard the same about IPSC. A friend of mine and myself have been registered on IPSC website for over half a year and the waiting lists for the clubs did not dwindle a single bit. Everything is overbooked.

Contacted my club, they have training sessions weekly but their Black Badge exam is overbooked by 4 people. NO luck even at my own club! :-(

So after so much trouble, I decided to go IDPA!
