IDPA Intro

Did it hurt your heart just a little when you realized you won the whole damn shoot with that damn Shadow Still alive?? :)
Great safe day on the range, everyone had a good shoot and the sun was shining all day, can't ask for more!

I had told jimbo I would lose no matter what happened. If I beat him, it was his CZ. If I lost, I was a bad shooter.
We just switch positions. He normally wins with his CZ SP-01 and I normally finish in the Top 10 which is exactly what happened with our switch. So I'm sure it was the guns making the difference. Pretty unfair though, comparing a tuned IPSC gun with power factor loads vs. an old Glock 19 with slippery grips, faded sights, factory ammo and a stock trigger!

Yeah, went from a DQ a month ago to a win. Funny how things happen!

You did great! Awesome performance! ...and it was the shirt, not the gun. lol!
Seriously though, you are a fantastic all-around shooter, and we all saw what happens when you pair a great shooter with a great gun. Kudos, my friend.

If I had one range session with the Glock before the match, I'd probably have come in 5th. Clearly I don't adapt to a different gun in a match environment in any timely manner. lol!

It was a fun day, and doing a gun swap on a "cold" platform is a great way to see what things you do that are ingrained in you, and what you can easily adapt. I think the most surprising thing is the grip angle of a Glock. So many people complain about the grip angle, and I have too, yet in this match, the grip angle thing and getting the sights (relatively) on target was a non-issue. A few draws in the safety area prior, and it wasn't a problem. Same with the trigger reset. I was expecting constant trigger freeze, but it was never an issue.

My mediocre vision and those sights was expected. Grip was "interesting" with that tiny gun. Slide never locking back was annoying, (probably from my high grip), and caused me a ton of wasted time, since I don't count shots. Never trained to do that, and I clearly didn't adapt during the match. lol!

It was a great, eye-opening, experience. :cheers:

Thanks for the props buddy. Your CZ is by far a better competition gun than a Gen2 Glock! It was so easy to shoot it well. The forward assist feature, the awesome tuned trigger, the wider magwell, the tapering of the magazines, the grip size and angle and the bright FO FSP all make it so easy to use. But now that we've proven that the CZ is better in the competition arena, I'm still going back to crappy polymers after this! I'm just a sucker for punishment!

And you had a chance to try a Glock before the match. You just turned your nose up at it! Didn't want to infect yourself with that horrible feel!
Having said that, you handled the Glock like a champ as befitting an Expert IDPA and A class IPSC shooter.
