IDPA New Shooter Orientation will cover the following topics:

* Handgun Basics
* Loading and unloading the firearm
* Drawing from holster and re-holstering
* Gripping the firearm with strong hand, weak hand and freestyle (weaver)
* Sight alignment
* Trigger Control
* Reloading (Slide Lock, Tactical reload and reload with retention)
* Moving with a drawn firearm
* Shooting stance, including prone shooting and barricade shooting
* Clearing malfunctions
* How Matches are scored
* Range Commands and Procedures

Participants are asked to bring:

150 rounds

A holster, suitable for concealed carry.

One double or two single mag pouches/speed loaders

5 dollars to cover the cost of targets and patches and 5 dollars for IDPA Canada.

Participants must join IDPA prior to taking the orientation course at www.idpa.com. The cost of an IDPA membership is $60. USD.

Course will run the whole day starting at 9am

A lunch (we usually get Subway)
