IDPA NSO at Orono ***GREAT TURN OUT TODAY***

Hey all,
I'm going to be joining Orono in the near future and am looking to get into IDPA. Only have a bit of pistol experience - how often do New Shooter Orientations take place?

When ever it is needed. Orono is a very active IDPA club with a great group of Safety Officers so that is not an issue.

I am definately hooked. It was nice having another newb there, takes some pressure off. You and the other regulars were great to learn from and shoot with. I am still not sure what the last target on the right did to you but I hope I never piss you off! See you in two weeks :)
 
Just a newbie question. Is the NSO considered to be a holster course? My gun club requires me to take a holster course before letting me to do any IDPA. But the club so far never offer one on its own.

The IDPA New Shooter Orientation is a course were you learn to shoot from a holster and if you are a current member of IDPA, a certificate will be issued.

Arrangements need to be made with the club for these courses to happen. I am sure it won't be very long before another one comes up. No dates as of yet. I will make sure that you guys get inboxed when a date is set.

Yup i'm hooked.. my first time out, I developed the valued skill of wounding a "hostage" target, in order to neutralize a "bad guy" target.. i hope the next time out i'll be able to fine tune that skill into "slighly wound"...
