Idpa

...and for new folks to these shooting sports, you'll be fine with your street belt to start with. I use an IPSC belt for IPSC, but for IDPA I just use my everyday street belt. A basic leather thing I've had for years. Adjust your holster and mag pouches so the gun/mags will come out without a ton of resistance, and you'll be good.

And with a couple of more mags the new shooter would be good to go in IPSC as well. You don't have to doll yourself up like a pimp from Harlem to get into the shooting sports. Initially, and for most, quite along time, simple is best and won't hurt the shooters early development. Lots of folks I know never go beyond their first simple rig set up and do quite well and have a lot of fun doing it.
