IDS AR 14.5" Ejection

I had a great day at the range today. I brought along a 16" STAG and put 130 rounds through it. I already put some 300 rounds through it last week. It was purring along no problems. All rounds ejected around one to two o'clock at two to three foot away.

I decided to try Out my 14.5" IDS. No problems for all 180 rounds. The ejection however was at three to four o'clock???
I thought all carbines are supposed to eject forward to nearer two o'clock?

Any thoughts or ideas why???

If the brass is out of the rifle, not in your face and you are having no issues why worry about it?

If all brass ejected at 2 o clock, what would the brass deflector be for?
