IDS (Imperial Defence Services) AR-15

I'll check a safety lever for you on Saturday, I don't see a problem swaping one out unless they made to hole a different diameter!

I've held the 10.5", fit and finish was not really what I would expect for $1600 but the chrome bolt & carrier were a nice bonus. I would probably get one if I had the extra funds. Instead i'm going to wait until they start shipping the 10.5" uppers and slap it on the armalite lower I have.

Who has 10.5" uppers coming in? Also remember when comparing prices that there have not been any 10.5" or 14.5" uppers or guns brought into Canada in the last couple of years (I mean in any quantity for retail sales). I think someone should do up a current (today's prices) comparison with what is available in Canada for new Ar 15's. Do the break down in all manufacture's and barrel lengths. Like everything else right now the prices are only valid in what is in Canada and not what was available last year. Both pricing and available models are now significantly different than before. I agree that the fit and finish is not up to par in comparison with the AR's from the USA but I note that no one has yet advised of function or accuracy problems. We have sold a number of these guns so far and the buyers seem happy with the value of these guns. Phil.

I'll bet they're every bit as good as the other $1500 10.5 and 14.5 inch AR's in the stores. What's that? Oh yeah, IF the store has a 10.5 I'll bet it's more than $1500 used. Really guys $1500 for a plinker AR isn't bad these days, you can spend twice that for a shorty very easily.

Phil,

It was actually a sponsored dealer on this site. We were talking about it while I was handling the 10.5". I would rather not let the cat out of the bag as to which sponsor it is through the forum(PM would be more suitable), i'm sure they don't want people calling every day "are they here yet".

I should also mention the person I was speaking with said it is EXTREMELY hard, almost impossible right now, to get any sort of uppers/upper parts in right now and it would take them a very long time(i'm speculating upwards of 6-8 months) to get anything in.

And, like you said, if they did get 10.5" uppers in the prices would be rather high because of the many factors currently effecting the sales of firearms in North America.

Cheers,
Kevan D.
