Field or range, if you are thinking of current production 22LR bolties, my vote goes to the Savage MKI/II, which is the Lakefield MKI/II design that Savage continued when they bought Lakefield in the mid-90s (please correct me if I am wrong).
The 10/22s and Savage MKIIs are both cheap to buy therefore are popular and plentiful. They seem to be the common benchmarks by which others in their genre are compared to, for semi-auto reliability and bolt-action accuracy. Both have inexpensive "base models" all the way to mid-price "deluxe models". They offer something for almost everyone but the most discriminating .22 shooter.
