If the Norc is a POS because it's a $500 rifle then the $1000 domestic rifles must be a real pile "o" crap because I see some AR's selling at over $2000.... Just sayin.
 
I would not be rushing out to sell my XCR-M as it is a cool rifle. I would finally consider then replacing many of the AR's I have sold over the years after getting frustrated with not being able to shoot them. Good chance I would buy a Norc M4'gery, just cuz, but I have a feeling those would remain restricted due to barrel length. I would then hold out and see if Ruger came out with an SR556 piston gun with 18.6" barrel or so. That would be an easy choice. Their .308 in that gun would be a definite grab.
 
I would not have bought mine, but I wouldn't sell it either if AR's were given NR status. I'm happy with my rifle and don't wish to customize it so that's a moot argument for me. I likely would start looking into an AR10 build though.

There's no way in hell an XCR is comparable to a $1000 AR. Full ambi features, excellent machining quality and tolerances and a superb bolt carrier. It's a well put together rifle that is far better in terms of quality than bargain basement AR's. It certainly has an inflated price given it's status, but lets be real here, Canada isn't what's keeping Robinson Arms alive. The rifle is selling plenty well in the states and that's in a market where AR's dominate and are much more affordable there vs. the XCR too.
 
If you want a reliable AR15 in 7.62x39, I don't think there are too many options - mostly bolt breakage issue (unless you have the rare LMT AR15 x39 Superbolt which is no longer made).
I'll keep the XCR in x39 just because it has a good track record for digesting x39 ammo without any real issues.

I do have an AR15 5.56mm and I would love it to be NR!

I have both, I'm keeping both.
 
well the price of the Nork would go from $525 to $900 over night. I would still buy it at that, if it went NR. I didn't care for the XCR.
 
If AR's were to become non restricted, I highly doubt the Tavor would disappear. Look at Tavors popularity south of the border, they are going crazy for it, yet they have AR's without any "restricted/non restricted" crap down there.

It's just a different kind of a beast.
 
if AR ever become NR, NOTHING will change! people will buy whatever gun they like.

perfect example of that is whenever new NR .223 rifle becomes available like the MR 1, SU16 and SUB 200, people say it will kill the market for XCR in Canada because they are lot more affordable, needless to say those predictions never materialized.
 
you guys do realize if you go to the USA (where the XCR is made) and ask them what they think of the XCR. Most have not even heard of it. I was at a gun show bragging about mine, everyone thought I owned a Canadian toy gun. There was one guy who actually heard of it, and he said no one in USA knows about it because Robinson focuses on a market like Canada where they can charge an enormous amount because its a NR. I love mine, and yes I love it because its NR. Pretty much only reason. If AR15 became NR hands down I would get rid of my XCR for a custom AR. Anyone who says no is in denial.

This. I would have an AR or 2 if they became NR but only due to price point. I have become a Tavor fanboy because I have grown preferences to the ergos and controls.
 
Obviously if we could only have one gun then everyone would pick the AR but most people would probably keep their XCR and just buy an AR, unless they were on a tight budget.. or their wife has his balls in her purse.
 
The Tavor is a 2500.00 dollars 2-2.5 MOA rifle, if ever a 1000.00 NR AR will give you around MOA off the bat... The Tavor only advantage justifing it's existence is it's NR status, nowaday you can take is at a very nice NR tool... JP.
 
Can't speak for the XCR as I don't have one, but I wouldn't get one for sure.
I do own an ACR tho, and even if AR were NR I'd keep it, maybe even get one if I didn't have one. Like the Tavor; it is a different animal, ergonomics are a step up from the AR IMHO, only downside is the price and weight. I love my AR and would definitely own at least a couple more upper, but I love guns and their different design, ACR was almost worth it's price, never even considered the XCR, Tavor and Swiss Arm would be awesome nevermind SCAR and AK... They all have their place
