The S&W Victory revolver that I am getting deactivated does not have the U.S. G.H.D. inspector's marking (for Brig. Gen. Guy H. Drewry)

With no US property markings it would have been US importable. (Those with US property markings can still be exported to Europe etc, just not the USA)

You're 100% right.

I do hate to see pieces of history neutered however.

I have a S&W Victory model in .38 Spl that's a 12(6). No plans to part it out or neuter it at this time.

Deactivated prohibited arms was a big seller (example previously Dewat ####-n-click pistols/revolvers sold for $100) until the latest deactivation requirements that no parts move, and also deactivation cost have skyrocketed from about $75 to about $250.

My deactivations will cost $100 per gun plus shipping. (My cost of a flat rate box from the post office was just under $20 when I sent the guns to the gunsmith.)

I have had a couple of experiences selling Dewat ####-n-click handguns back in 2021 at Collector's Guild in NB.

After their fees I got $2039 Cdn. (It was worth the effort.)
