If I was looking for an sks and scope, what should I get?

Im not too familiar with sks's, so Im now looking for one after playing with one this weekend.

I want a decent shape russian sks and possibly a good scope mount and scope to go with it

questions....

laminate or hardwood?

any factory the best or better than others?


are the posp scopes good? (relative to say 3200's, legends, etc)

best mount for a scope?

interammo has the SKS side mount and a bunch of posp scopes.

I have a 4 power i bought from them and use it on my CZ 858 with a side mount. Works great and looks bad ass.

The nice thing about a side mount is that you can detach them and throw something else on eg red dot, or go iron sights without losing zero on any of the scopes or red dots u use

To me, a scope will just never look right on an SKS. I think I might order Tech Sights for one of mine and see if it helps. There's nothing inherently wrong with open sights, the SKS ones are just poorly thought out, and as a result tricky to shoot against a dark colored backdrop...so has been my experience at least.
