As many of you know we are a Nightforce dealer. We build ALOT of real long range rifles and sell ALOT of the NF 8x32 scopes.
Unfortunately NF does not offer these scopes with the zero stop option, so in an effort to see if I am wasting my time trying to convince NF to possibly offer this as an upgrade to existing NF 8x32NXS series scopes I pose the question.
If it were available would you spend the $200.00 to have the zero stop upgrade?

I realize that there could be lots of discussion, but to keep it simple would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rick

I would look at buying a 8-32 if they had it.. one of the reasons I bought the 5.5-22 instead...But i would buy one for my Edge I am building...

I will ask Jason and Jeff as they both have them and post here...

Your plan is refurbishing 8-32X scopes with the zero stops?

If so then hell yes!:D

I talked to 2 different people at NF 2 months ago and they told me that they did not offer the milrad adjustment turrets on the 8-32. I will be pissed if you are right because I just got an 8-32 with MOA adjustments.

Sorry I stand corrected, I just went through their ordering guide and they do not.
My apologies for getting you excited:redface:

Answer: No

Explanation: I have a scope that already has this feature and I can't say that I've ever had to rely on it, so I wouldn't shell out 200$ just so I wouldn't have to peek up to set elevation back to zero.

i wouldn't feel comfortable sending my scopes back across the line for the mod....for fear of losing it forever or taking forever to get it back with the way the border is now a days. if i could have it done in canada then yes i would get it done for sure.

+2

I have 4 nightforce scopes, and one of them has the zero stop.
I cannot think of a time where I've ever relied on it, and I use my turrets for SR/PR competition (using them during a run-down isn't exactly stressful, but one is certainly under more pressure than any PR / sniper event I've attended).

There's nothing wrong with the zero stop idea. For example....I've gone out shooting and forgot to set my turrets back to zero and then 2 weeks later when I head out again....I'm guessing where my zero was. However, NF should start making their turrets so that in 2 turns you can cover then entire elevation range. But.....that would make things too easy.

This is little concern if 1 uses FedEx express and has the permits in place to get the scope back and forth.
To just mail it back I agree would be taking unnecessary risks.

This is the reason I am raising this question.
I have too many rifles and not nearly enough memory anymore, so find myself in the situation of having to try and figure out where my zero is to often.

Yes I know there are ways of solving this without the zero stop, but the zero stop is just easy and idiot proof which for me is perfect.

I am just trying to find out if there is enough interest to try and sell NF on the idea.

They selll a tonne of optics to the U.S. military. I would suspect if the military was calling for it they would install the zero stops in an instant. I don't think the sporting market is large enough to warrant the effort. the old supply and demand thing. I have NF scopes and always buy without Zero stops as I don't have a need for them. But then again I am no exert sniper either.

Probably NO, unless I (like you said) had too many rifles to keep track of. As things are now I have no use for it and I have 42X N/F's anyways, I had considered it and did call about details before.

Many of our customers who are considering Nightforce scopes ask for the zero stop models until I tell them it will cost an additional $200 or so. When I ask why they wanted the zero stop model they usually said because they thought it would be nice to have but most didn't really need it for the money. We found the zero stop models were slower sell due to the higher price for the limited improvement (unless you are a real sniper and need to get your zero in an instant without looking). Phil.
