If only they would offer this with a 1/4 inch longer barrel and get a Canadian distributor.

http://www.naaminis.com/The Earl.pdf

It's .22Mag at the moment but they say they are coming out with a .22LR cylinder to swap in.

The grip looks a little short for comfy range time but a bit of woodworking would fix that. The same shape or perhaps a little more full and extended down so there's somewhere for the pinky to rest.

I've shot a little dainty S&W Mod 34 .22 kit gun and it's a total blast to shoot. Tiny in the hand but because of that it has a nice satisfying kick to it and despite the size and kick is far more accurate than I am.

I wonder if enough of us were to badger them if they would provide a Canadian version that would only be restricted. Then we just need to get someone to jump through the hoops to bring them in. I'd buy one for sure.

good news!

from rimfire central:

Sandy,

I already own Mini-Master Convertable ....

I would like to also purchase (from my local FFL)
"The Earl", but with a 5" or 6" barrel.

Ok?

I do pigeon hunting and other small game.

A 5" or 6" barrel would help with .22 shot shells.

With my 4" Mini-Master the .22 shot shells
do not have the range or pattern obtained
with my 16" Henry Mini-Bolt.

Thank you,
Eddie Maddox

Eddie -
We may make The Earl with a longer barrel configuration
at some point in the future. Thanks for your interest.
Happy New Year. - Sandy

I agree. A lot of the appearance charm would go away if it was much longer than 4.25. But that's all we need to get it up this way.... well, that and a distributor to import them.

There's always the option of doing a group buy and go through an existing distributor to import them I guess or use Questar's service.

I know I'm going to send off an email suggesting a 4.25 version for us. NAA is a smaller company so it's just possible that such a small modification would not fall on deaf ears. They won't get rich selling to a few dozen Canadians but we can hope.

i know that on their website they say somewhere that they can tackle special custom projects so it's worth to try it since it's not that big of a company

well on their contacts page the email is directed to the customer service team

so if you want to talk to someone specific is going to be by phone

I'm bumping this back up to the top, I spoke with Sandy today, and he said if they got an importer to apply, and an order of 50 pieces, they would make a run just for the Canadian market. If thats the case I think we could get them to do the 4.25" barrel, so it still looks good. Group buy?

I'm down for one, any other takers?

And he replied! Just like that:

Here's what I asked:

If this were to happen, and we can get an order of 50 (or more) Earl's, made to Canadian barrel length (4.25" has generated the most interest), Would North American Arms be willing to do a special run with say numbering (1 of 50, 2 of 50, ect) or something special to signify the Canadian aspect? (ie, a maple leaf on the barrel or some such?). If so, the second question would be whats included and approximate (USD) price?

So the configuration as follows:

NAA Earl in 4.25"
.22lr and .22magnum cylinders
Numbering to signify limited edition first run.

And the response:

Trevor - Pricing would be determined by our export agent, Austin Sheridan http://www.austinsheridanusa.com/ . In addition to his quote, I would anticipate you should add about $10 ea. for special handling at the NAA factory as well as our expected charge for the longer barrel. We would be happy to serialize these uniquely, such as CDN001, 002 etc. - Sandy

Now the NAA Earl "Retails" in this configuration (both 22mag and 22lr cylinders) for $324.00 USD. Thats Retail keep in mind, so it would be up to an importer to contact Austin Sheridan, and determine dealer pricing, then individual pricing. Oh, and I call CDN001 ;)
