If the bullpup mod was legal in Canada.

Would you change it to a bull pup if it. Was legal? Would you make fun of it if a bunch of people did the bull pup mod and call it bull crap? Would it become the next tapco? Share your thoughts?

I would make the change to bull pup it would be lots cheaper than a tavor and basically the same setup.

I assume you're talking about the SKS? While I love mine, I'm not sure I'd want that action so close to my face. The purpose built bullpups generally have a sheet of steel between the action and your eyeballs, being an inch from a ruptured casing or a failed acton (pretty rare in the tank we call SKS) is not my idea of a good time.

"cheaper than a Tavor and basically the same setup...". Yup. Almost as close as a horse is to a chimpanzee. Basically the same setup... LOL.

Why are they not legal an SKS bull pup. Is it to short and easy to conceal? Or because your not allowed to make a great weapon even better.

Bullpups are illegal unless they cannot exist as 'not a bullpup' is maybe the simplest way to explain it. If the stock was designed as part of the receiver originally they are OK to own. No conversions allowed as kittens might die.

That's good I like kittens.

Been interested to try this since I first saw it. Stupid canadian laws.

Bullpup design rifles (and shotguns, of course) are legal. Stocks that convert a conventional configuration long gun to a bullpup are illegal. I assume it is because of the short OAL and easier concealment, but it is as retarded as everything else in the firearms act because the 26" OAL applies to all long guns regardless of barrel length, action type or mechanical configuration. Just one more example of how ignorant of guns the people who wrote C-68 were.

not even close to the same setup lol

I wasn't going to point that out, but this is very correct. They would be the same setup in the same manner as a McLaren F1 and Dodge Neon are the same.

I'd probably pick up one of the kits to try it out, but from what I've heard aftermarket bullpup kits usually aren't that impressive.

Very possible. I would like to try an SKS and the 10/22 to see if I like the layout without spending $3K on a Tavor or RFB.

Where the heck can you pick up a kit?

There are numerous bullpup conversion kits for sale in the US.

Not a bullpup fan at all but I'm certain SKS owners would jump all over it.

There are many owners who are bored with the current available mods and rush to complete the latest trendy mod or project.

I mean look at the Skittles inspired stock paint job thread. It's new! I have more than a few! I must do!

I could see if it was a dangerous weapon after conversion but seriously what a stupid law. I think I am going to make friends with an American and buy the cool stuff down there and keep it at his house and go shooting on the weekends.

All of the Firearms Act is stupid law, it serves no useful purpose and stomps on the rights of millions of Canadian citizens. If you can swing that plan it is a decent way to go.
