If Walter Mitty had only one 7.62x39 rifle , which one would it be?

+1 on the 52/57! They feel a bit front heavy but not terribly, and they just feel like a quality czech firearm.

Edit: Although I guess the aftermarket for them is pretty much non-existent so it might not meet your criteria.

The VZ 52/57 is a pleasure to shoot and a decent one will be able to wring as much accuracy out of the milsurp ammo you'll run through it. Down side is prices have crept up and availability is scarce.
Non-restricted with detachable 5/10 round mags with excellent build quality in a very cool design.
Worthy of being in every semi-auto aficionado's inventory ;)

ya,I've looked at those on google hehehe but ya, hard to find and pricey for what I'm looking for.
I'm pretty happy with the fit and finish on my sks-d and I have lots of AK mags that fit it perfectly. most of my mags are 20 years old now and I had to pin them myself when c-68 took the extra 25 rounds of fun out of them :(
I need to clean up the trigger and do some basic and proven sks tweaks here and there and see if maybe I can get it to a satisfactory "survival rifle" type accuracy.
