If we could only own 5 rifles and one shotgun, what chamberings would you choose?

22LR (CZ 457 or Tikka T1x)
7.62x39 (CZ 527 or SKS)
7x57 (Brno model 21 or Ruger M77 tang safety)
8x57 (CZ 557 Lux)
45-70 (Henry H010)
12 ga (Henry single shot)

It's challenging to limit to 5, as I could replace 7x57 with 243, and 8x57 with 308/30-06, but I am tired of vanilla. :)

However, if only one rifle, it would be a strong, modern bolt gun in 7x57 which can do it all for me. I have loads that exceed 308 energy ranges as well as in the softer "7mm Mauser" / 243 energy ranges. I even have a Trail Boss load that puts me squarely in the 7.62x39 camp. What a great cartridge!

getting close to swedish mind where it is 6 rifles ...

i cant answer that question but as Jack O connor has written many decades ago a 30-06, a 12 ga and 22lr is only what a man needs ... just add a 357 revolver and you re golden ... but i cant live a world so narrow ...

Something in a magnum 7mm Rem mag I guess, or maybe a 45/70. Neither are high up on my priority list currently but you never know what is going to pop up.

22LR CZ457
.243 Savage Impulse
.270 Tikka
.338 (will I ever use it?)
20ga (multiple barrels/chokes allowed right? :)
