if you could only have one rifle for hunting what would it be?

My Remington 7600 in .308...dead anything out to 300yds, quick follow up shots...I put that #### on everything.

There's no way I could only have one rifle!! But if it came down to just one, maybe the ATRS Modern Hunter with a few spare barrels in different calibers.

Ruger M77 in 308WIN. Fits my like a glove. Feels like an extension of my body

My custom 7.5 pound 700 long action (Kwik Klip) 7mm 08 (22") with a VX II 3-9x33 Leupold (LR reticle) (Pictured is the 3.5-10 since replaced). Quarter sawed very straight and stable walnut stock.

I could live with any one of my three faves:

1. 1953 Husqvarna 270

2. 1955 Husqvarna 7x57

3. Custom 280 In a Brno Mauser action

For many years all I had was a Ross M10 303 and after that for even longer all I used was a Remington Model 700 243

My encore PH
I have a 7-08, 45/70 and a .416 Rigby barrel for it... I'd be a happy camper if I could find a 20ga barrel for it now :)

If I had to choose a "one gun" it would likely be a Sauer Sako or Cooper in .375 H&H

One rifle only...I'd keep my mint 1956 Husqvarna 30.06 that I had glass bedded into a Boyd's "Classic" pepper laminate stock, with Bushnell Elite scope on top...she shoots .4 moa every time I don't drink coffee before I go to the range.:)
The Barnes Vor-tx 168 grain ttsx ammo it shoots so well is deadly on anything with antlers...tested, tried, and true!

As the title implies, if you could only have one rifle for all of your hunting requirements what would that one rifle be? My choice would be my M 70 chambered in .375 H & H topped with a Leupold VX III 1.5 - 6X with Leupold QD rings. You could hunt any game animal in the World with this from coyotes to elephants IMO.
Are you a regular international hunter after elephant and buffalo? Do you regularly hunt moose/big bear/bison/etc here in Canada?

Unless you really need a 375Magnum for a lot of hunting that you normally do, I think you would regret that choice pretty quick and wish for a lightweight 270/7x57/280/30-06 class rifle.
