if you could only have one rifle for hunting what would it be?

I'm liking 30-06 a lot more these days. In a nice, high quality rifle with a great scope it makes a very nice and flexible package, especially if hand loading.

My M-70's in either 30-06 or 375 HH. The 30-06 makes things dead in short order the 375 HH does it instantly.

A model 70 in .375 H&H. I'd likely rechamber to .375 Weatherby though, it would still take the H&H cartridges.

If I had to choose a "one gun" it would likely be a Sauer Sako or Cooper in .375 H&H

One rifle only...I'd keep my mint 1956 Husqvarna 30.06 that I had glass bedded into a Boyd's "Classic" pepper laminate stock, with Bushnell Elite scope on top...she shoots .4 moa every time I don't drink coffee before I go to the range.
The Barnes Vor-tx 168 grain ttsx ammo it shoots so well is deadly on anything with antlers...tested, tried, and true!

As the title implies, if you could only have one rifle for all of your hunting requirements what would that one rifle be? My choice would be my M 70 chambered in .375 H & H topped with a Leupold VX III 1.5 - 6X with Leupold QD rings. You could hunt any game animal in the World with this from coyotes to elephants IMO.

Are you a regular international hunter after elephant and buffalo? Do you regularly hunt moose/big bear/bison/etc here in Canada?

Unless you really need a 375Magnum for a lot of hunting that you normally do, I think you would regret that choice pretty quick and wish for a lightweight 270/7x57/280/30-06 class rifle.
