the MkIII take down is an issue because if you clean the gun like it should be, you'll wear out the pin holes and then have a gun that won't stay together. MkIV fixes that. I believe the button and pin are plastic though...so I look to metal upgrade options. :cool:

You don't need to be removing pins, other than the one that holds the firing pin in place, which is a slip fit.
The mainspring housing needs only a squirt of oil occasionally, and need never be disassembled.
The firing mechanism, likewise, is so easily accessible that it can be cleaned without ever taking it apart.
If you refer to the large takedown pin that is part of the mainspring housing, you could remove and reinstall it thousands of times without ever introducing any significant wear at all.
You are inventing problems that do not exist.
 
I should clarify...not the pins in the handle that help hold the frame together and such...just the biggun takedown pin.

I'm not making anything up...was the warning/complaint shared with me 5 years ago when I asked questions.

no matter now though, the Mark IV fixes that and makes a good gun better. :)
