If you were still just a newbie at shooting wanting to continue plinking, doing a black badge and possibly shoot IDPA and IPSC matches, what you get?

Shadow? Glock 19(x)/17/45 (if it comes to Canada)? S&W M&P9 2.0?

I have a Norinco NP29 because I've always wanted a 1911 and wanted to make sure I bought a restricted when all the C71 nonsense started. Now I want to buy another.

Shadow is a good choice. The Walther Q5 Match looks interesting to me, been thinking of that for IPSC Production Optics (that or the Shadow Optic Ready if it arrives before my patience runs out).

I always finish behind the Shadows too......and I run a Shadow. ;)

I...don't know what to say~:)

Jimbo14 and I have a running bet about when I'll buy a Shadow. He keeps destroying the field whenever he shows up. Damn IPSC gamers! ;)
I refuse to ever buy one based on stubbornness now. We will switch guns at the next IDPA match and I'll shoot his Shadow and he'll use my Glock. I'm curious to see how we do.

I've been going about this the wrong way. If you beat me shooting my gun, then you really should buy a Shadow! That would be proof right there! lol!

Looking forward to the fun next spring!

Any of them will do the job but if you were leaning towards IPSC, take the Shadow. More inclined to IDPA, either the Glock or M&P are better suited.

In the meantime, get your Black Badge and shoot Classic minor with that NP29.

I started IDPA/3gun with a GP100 and got sort of tired of coming in last with a nod but still “winning my division”. I bought an NP29 and a bunch of mags so i could get a semi. It fits my hands well, I like the contols and the way it points. Now I get mediocre times but its not as fun.
