The bottom line is most any Joe Hunter Dude in Canada would be well served with 2 non-magnum rifles.

A 223 with a 270Win or 7/08 or 7x57 or 280 or 308 or 30/06 or 303British or 8x57 would want for nothing for 99% of the hunting we typically do.

Very true, but if we only had what we needed, Johnny would indeed be a dull boy.

If I had to choose it would have to be my Winny Model 94 in 30/30 an for the bigger stuff my Winny Model 70 in 300 Win Mag.
Yes I like my Winnies :)

Good choices ;a 30-30 for a brush gun , and a 300 Win Mag for distance and heavier game . May need a 223 or 22-250 for a varmit rifle as well......

If it was me, I would want one light weight rifle, chambered in 270 or 7-o8 or 7x57 or 284 win or 280 or 308. I already have a 308 norma mag so it would be my 2nd rifle. I could also go one step further, one light weight rifle chambered in 30-06 and be done with it. Life would be boring though.

Ya, we could argue what's better. 30/06 vs 30/06

Hey SC you mean we could argue the relative merits of a 20" barrelled 30-06 vs a 22" vs a 24" vs a 26" or pump vs bolt vs semi vs single shot.............................but really who cares?
I think I'd have to change my main hobby if one was only allowed 2 firearms...........back to hotrodding........then some guy would say "what if you could only have 2 cars".....it seems there's killjoys in every sport. ;)

You got that right 'Looky, just cost me 18K to change a camshaft................Like wives, one bird is all I can afford at a time. But flying isn't a hobby for me, it was all work related, kinda like a pickup with wings. Now I'm not on the tools anymore I just do enough flying to keep my licence current. The kid is doing the lions share of the flying now, he's finally checked out on Dixie (C-GDXI) and has actually fallen in love with her, so all is good.
