If for some insane reason, you could only keep one of your current hunting rifles, which one would it be?

I'd keep my BRNO 602 .375 H&H because it could handle all of my big game needs as well as serve as a working rifle for bush camp work.

Go big or go home.

Oh man, the one rifle thing again?:D

I'll bite.

My Tikka T3LSS in 300WSM. Its light quick and handy (not as much so as the 45-70GG) but it's got range on it's side.

Oh, and the 300WSM is way better than the 300WM.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo.............................. I just can't do it with one! :runaway:

It would have to be my Rem 700 BDL .30-06........ could probably make do with that one only, if I had to...............

A 30-06? Well, that's just un-imaginative..:p

I can't imagine only having one rifle, but traveling could make it much more practical to only carry one. If bigger big game are part of the equation, then the .375 is a great choice. Since it is usually the smallest caliber allowed for dangerous African game it is close the the only choice.
If the choice is about one rifle for the hunting I do most then my Gaillard built M70 in 7STW gives me the power I need and the speed I crave. Can I have 2?

Only one rifle??? :runaway:For world wide travel, have would have to say 375 H&H. North and South America, 7mm Remington mag would do me just fine thanks.

At one time I'd of chosen a .30-06 as my do anything rifle, but my .375 Ultra is even more versatile. When loaded with 380 gr soft points at 2300 fps (84 grs 4350) or with 286 gr PMP solids at 2700 fps (92 grs 4350), it is suitable for large or dangerous game. Nosler's 260 gr BT's or AB's at 2600 fps (90 grs 4350) is a fine medium game load. Finally, when loaded with Hornady's 270 gr bullet at 1400 fps (18 grs Unique) it is accurate, fun to shoot, and suitable for small game. Yet despite the broad range of velocities, all of these loads work in my rifle at their intended ranges with the same sight setting - now how cool is that.

No doubt a .300 magnum of some sorts. My current .300 will fill the bill. Talk about un-imaginative. That's what I hate about the .300. I sit here, thinking about my next rifle purchase and know full well it won't do anything my .300 will. It's kind of depressing really.

Well, the thread rules said it was a rifle you currently own... I'd probably go with a pre '64 Win Model 70 in .375 H&H if it was about one gun you wish you had... ;)
