If you could only own ONE bolt action rifle ? ... not a troll thread

Selecting from my current collection, my Voerre in 7mmSTW. Along with my reloading gear that is. If no reloading gear allowed, I'd keep my JC Higgins Model 50 in 30-06.

If I was looking to purchase only one, a Win Mod 70 in 30-06. For both reliability, and almost unlimited options in both factory ammo and reloading. Good for anything from rabbits to moose elk and bear.

Tikka Stainless Camo in 30-06. Rust resistant, light, powerful enough to take anything out, wide range of rounds and camo because I thoroughly enjoy my stainless camo in 243.

Only one would have to be the Win Mod 70 featherweight 30-06 my dad got for me when I finished high school in 1963. It still mounts a plain Leupold 4x scope in Weaver mounts that I put on it a few months later that summer.

Other than that I would flip a coin and choose between my M 38 Swede, Mauser Obendorf make, dated 1900 or a Husqvarna Mod 46 in 9.3x57, probably the M 38 for availability of commercial ammo.

If you only had one leg, what kind of shoe would you buy? LOL

Merrill. Nothing else compares. LOL

As for guns, whatever boltgun has multiple interchangeable caliber offerings. I like choice. Don't know of any guns that have that ability at present however, but I'm sure some must exist.

Of all the rifles I own, this Brno would probably be my keeper. And if it was my only rifle, I would have it drilled and tapped for scope mounts. :

Brno 22F (21F?) with a Mannlicher-type stock . Caliber is 8x57S. It is completely unaltered 100% original, in near new condition, maybe fired once or twice, with a perfect bore. Mauser 98 action. Made in 1945!

Beautiful, and a wonderful choice. An honest do-everything-anywhere cartridge, in a rifle that is practical enough to use, and yet classy enough to just sit and admire. :) Nice.
