If you could pick a gun...

Hmmm, truth be told I was kind of hoping you'd be raffling off a Remington 710. I sooo badly want to get my hands on one of those ###y rifles.;)

In all seriousness though, if you raffle the combo gun I'll buy tickets for sure.

Chuck

Of those choices, I'd opt for the first one - the combo gun.

Food for thought, you'd really get my blood pumping if you offered a BLR in .325 WSM or a Remington 750 carbine in .35 Whelen - but then I'm just another rifle loony. ;)

I'm pretty sure I'll end up buying a ticket or two myself. Not sure which I like the most. The 22's appeal to me as does the 870. I like the idea of a combo too but not sure about their broad appeal. I have to agree with the board that I would love to have one, but would never spend the money on one.

I don't think so, cause I have one on the forum, all decked out, yet no takers:rolleyes:

Frank
Shameless, Frank... lol :D

Well, I have attempted to look at this objectively and the more I think about it the combo gun might be the ticket. It seems to be the overwhelming "I'd like to have one but would never buy one" choice.
With that in mind it makes perfect sense. Virtually nobody's got one but we'd all have one if they were the price of a raffle ticket. I wouldn't buy one but I'd sure buy a raffle ticket or two to help you out and if the bonus is I win, well great! ;)
I'm no psychologist but methinks the best raffle draw would be something "different"...
Or, wtf do I know! :p

Why not some sort of lever gun? Those appeal to a lot of people. Maybe something "neat", like out of the Marlin 1894 series. (Chambered in 357 or 44mag)

Yeah, kinda like buying a raffle ticket to win a '67 Corvette...

Ok, I have been thinking about it some more...
I had a Baikal Combo gun and It took me forever to sell it. These are cool in the pictures but once you get them in your hands they are kinda 2X4ish.

I'll buy a ticket regardless but I would rather the .22 combo

If these are the only guns in the price range that the club can afford, and it's a raffle for an 'Annual Cause', why not try to get the gun shop to participate in the fund raiser as 'part donation' and go for a more expensive/desireable gun!

Better gun,sell more tickets,raise more money !!!

How about a Marlin lever in either 45-70 or 450 Marlin? Not everyone has one, and they are definite killers of game. Just a thought. Of the ones you listed. the combo has no appeal for me. The 870 is probably the only one I could even think about. The rimfire you listed doen't even raise my pulse by one beat a minute.

Spend a couple extra bucks, and get a thumper.
