If you had a 1000 dollars

Well I do have $1000 but wasn't planning on spending it on guns. But if I were I would buy:

Portuguese Mauser-Vergueiro
Spanish M44
SVT40

Walnut K31 and a Longbranch #4 mark 1*
I'm the type of guy who looks for original condition and good to excellent condition with matching numbers being key. So $1000 would probably buy me both with a higher % of the loot going towards the Enfield.

My list is as follows:

Full wood Ross MkIII (don't think $1000 would buy one anymore)
Kropatschek
K31 with diopter sights
71/84 Mauser
Werndl (never seen one for sale so I'm not sure if a grand would cover it)
Springfield trap door
Another Snider (I need 2 or 3)
Arisaka

I think that's it. I must say though that I've lucky in my collecting and have yet to spend anything close to $1000 on a single purchase, yet I have a couple $1000 rifles.

a full matching, vet bring back, no duffle cut K98....if I could find that for $1k

otherwise a matching, excellent condition, wartime dated Longbranch No.4 Mk1

barring that...I'll always be looking for the best No.1 Mk3 / Mk3* 's that I can afford

or I could always spend it all on bayo's for my SVT-40 and No.5 Mk1.....ugh...nah

I already have everything I "need" and want, so I'd look at it as an investment. Probably another four SVT-40's. I imagine that they'll appreciate the most out of what presently for sale. Some of the other presently inexpensive guns have been inexpensive for years (e.g. Carcanos, K31's, Vetterlis, etc.) and don't seem to have much up-side.

A C&C Inglis Bren that has seen honest combat (read beat to rat p*ss). I've wanted one really bad for a really long time. Stupid bank account never agrees with me though!

Yet another original config LB #4. I don't know what I want more, and I don't care.

I've also always wanted a k31 carbine. Fun to shoot, but do I really want to deal with yet another cartridge type to reload?

$1000 isn't enough for a really big ticket milsurp, but I'd cover the colonial model Kropatshek and Italian Vetterli 6.5 conversion I've had my eyes on, and bayonets to go on them.
