What would you keep? I just sold off 21 guns to pay outstanding debts. (out of debt now! Ya!!!) and these are the four I kept. What ones would you keep? If you want you can make it a 5 guns instead of 4.

For a bonus question, If you could only keep one gun from your collection, which one would it be. Mine would be my first firearm ever. My CZ 550 LUX.

Marlin 1894 CBC 357 magnum oct barrel
Shiloh Sharps Long Range Express 45-70
Ruger old army gloss stainless, fixed sights
Ruger first model m77 in 300 winmag

Just off the top of my head (only have the 22 LR at the moment, but am looking for some of the others):
22 LR - CZ 452
22-250 REM - Sako L579/AII
30-06 SPRG - too many good choices here, have to think about it...
375 H&H MAG - Sako AIV Safari

Lol, I only have the luxury of owning 6 right now as it is. If I had to drop 2, I'd probably lose the 870 12g as our range sucks and only allows single projectiles and the Model 70 Extreme Weather in 7mmRM and keep the Ruger Scout in 308, Ruger Alaskan in 375R, the CZ 452 American(or trade it for a Lux), and the M&P 40.

As this is luckily only hypothetical, I'll likely keep them all and buy a Uberti 1885 Highwall in 45/70 and a 1873 Cattleman in 45 Colt when the budget allows. My wife seems to enjoy shooting pistols so maybe an M&P 22 might be the very next gun I buy.

I only own 3 so by this logic do I get to pick one up for free that you guys hat to drop? Lol

My favorite (might only own 3 but shot a ton of them) is my 45/70 hands down and i laugh because I am a modern guy through and through but something about it just grabs me.

1. Ruger 10/22
2. 20ga SxS choked IC/M
3. 223 bolt action sporter
4. 7x57, 708, 270, 280, 308, 30/06 bolt action sporter

1. Swiss 1882 service revolver in 7.5x23R
2. BSA Martini 310 Australian Cadet in 32/20 (also chambers Swiss 7.5x23R)
3. custom small-ring M98 sporter in 6.5x55
4. non-refurbished IZH import 1954 SKS in 7.62x39

However, if I could bring only 1 gun and it was purely a survival situation, it would be my Remington 870 Marine Magum with an R3 recoil pad and 18 inch barrel... and a shot shell belt with everything from #2 bird shot to 00 buck shot to rifled slugs.

Marlin 45/70 GBL
Rem 700 7mm mag
Beretta 391 Extrema 2
Savage 93 22

However this will never happen lol but I could live with that

Other notables SR-25 / glock 17 or 22 / DD m4 / 870 grizzly ( for zombies of course )

It depends, do heirlooms count? In that case 3 of 4 positions are spoken for. If I could keep 5 then here it is:

Winchester 1894 38-55, bought used by my grandpa in 1920
Lee-Enfield LSA No1 MkIII, sporterized in the '50s and given to my Grandpa by my Grandma as a wedding present in 1954
Lee-Enfield Maltby No4 MkI, sportered by Parker-hale, bought by my Dad in 1954, his first rifle

Which leaves my two:

My first rifle, 1942 Long Branch No4 MkI* (original)
And my favorite: 1954 Winchester M70 in 300 H&H

- Rossi 92 44magnum
- a .308 rifle with optic
- DA Grizzly 12.5 tube feed with ghost sights with inserts for .22, .44mag, .38/357, etc...
- S&W 686p (7 rounds) .38/357

What is this "4 guns," punishment? :) I have 5 rifles in one chambering. But, if I had to live with 4 only:
1. Remington 541T 22LR
2. Remington 700 Classic 7x57 [or 6.5x55 or 6mm Remington] Hard time deciding this one, lol.
3. Vanguard II Lazerguard 30-06. [or 700 Custom 308 Norma Magnum]
4. Remington 700 Custom 338 Win Mag.

Whew!! Just thinking about only being allowed 4 firearms gives me sweats. [ATM, I own 18 rimfires alone]

Regards, Dave.

Reminds me of the numerous "If you could only own 4 guns..." threads because people usually pick guns they are familiar with and already own.

I'd take;

One of my Chinese SKS'.

One of my 870 12 gauges.

One of my 30-30 levers.

One of my Mosin carbines.

1.) Ruger 10/22, first firearm I bought myself and my german shepherd is named after it.
2.) My great grandfathers Savage model 40 super sporter in .30-06
3.) Maverick 88 12 gauge with 28" mod choked barrel and 18.5" cylinder bore barrel
4.) Norinco M305, 22" barrel, upgraded op rod guide and spring.
