If you only rifles chambered in 2 cartridges, what would they be?

for a strict 2 gun system I would have my 6mm Rem and 300 WM. However, you just mention varmints to moose, taking bison, grizzly, african game out of the picture. If there was no need for that then I would go 223 and 270

I used to shoot 243 Win and 270 WSM but moved to more practical 223 Rem and 308 Win.
One step down in performance but a step up in practicality.

I'll probably start wearing polyester cloth next year ;)

If this was a strictly North American thing, I'd go with a .257, probably 25-06 and a .338 Winchester.
If it was the globe, I'd likely (in ignorance) feel best about a .30 cal and a 416. 300 Winchester would be my pick of the litter, but the Weatherby would do. The Rigby is quintessential.

Sorry bearkilr, I tried to go back and change the title but my lack of Computer know how got the best of me. It should read rifles, chambered in two centre fire cartridges, meaning however many rifles you want. But you're limited to them being chambered in two cartridges. Or you can have only two rifles. However you see fit.

Just kidding of course, I knew what you meant. ;)

My choices would be a 264WM and a 338 WM.

Of current rifles, I'd probably keep my 30-06's and my 7x57's, a half dozen to play and hunt with.
Ruger M77MkII boat paddle stainless 30'06, Sako AV carbine 30'06, Brno 22F 7x57, Ruger K1A 7x57,
and a Krieghoff drilling and a Merkel BBF in 7x57 rimmed. Are the rimmed rounds cheating? the chambers are the same!
