If you only rifles chambered in 2 cartridges, what would they be?

It depends where you are in life, as in seldom hunt deer anymore I will keep my coyote rifle, a 243. The other will be hard as I have many fine small calibers. My hornet would likely win out as my gopher/small criter gun.

Not enough difference between these two, what one will do so will the other if handloaded. 110grs in the '06 will do any varminting, and a couple of quick shots with a 115 TSX will handle any moose or even grizzly, though not my choices in either.

That is a very good point bob, so I guess I will have to change it to 30-06 and 375 h&h or 375 rcm.
 
First choice was .223 & .308...

I could also live with .22 K-Hornet & 7X57 Mauser.


Or .222 Rem and .280 Rem for that matter.

30-06 in a bolt action Sako 85 or Mauser 98 (only)
.22LR in a bolt action Savage MKII or Ruger 10/22

If we could "bend" the rules, there's nothing wrong with a Remington 870 with two barrels: 18" smooth bore or a cantilever rifled barrel to push some hard hitting slugs!

I also agree with Hoyt...

I could easily substitue 7x57 for 30-06
I could also substitue 32 S&W Long for 22LR (in a rifle)
