the 264Mag has the magnum sized rim, or just go with the 7mmRem Mag

I would say if you looking for something between 303Brit and 338WM the 325WSM fits the bill but then your not really using the full length of the action.

8mm Mag I think will be too long for the action.

woodchopper - I hope that you are incorrect about 8mm Rem Mag being too long - this 416 Rem Mag I am trying on this P14 is apparently based on the 8mm Rem Mag case - might be some "crowbar-use" to occur here to make it fit ...

Dan, you would know 8RemMag is long but the P14 is a long action, it was not originally designed for 303 but for the 276Enfield round, which is also a long round.
