If you were in the russian army in WW2 what weapon would you like to use?

You always hear that, don't you? In reality you only see German soldiers with Russian weapons for one simple reason. Lack of ammo. Does over-extended German supply line ring a bell? Two Fronts? Bombing raids? etc, etc, etc.
 
ППШ-41 without a doubt.

By all accounts it was the outstanding weapon of its kind in that era.
 
I wouldn't choose any. You got a rifle or ammo in many cases, not both. I would rather have the ammo in hand and accessible and pick up a firearm off a fallen comrade and lock and load - as opposed to running around with an empty gun looking for loose cartridges or rummaging through dead comrades pockets. They faced some serious challenges
 
Katyusha and a sandwhich. With a ppsh41 and a sack full of drums. The boys would call it a man purse but I'd laugh and tell them ammo is always fashionable.

German did rip off the svt to build their G43 ;) German were very close minded to drilling gas ports in barrels til the Russian proved it worked well.
 
Yakoviev Yak-3 was faster, more manuverable and had a faster ascent time than a British Supermarine Spitfire and the German BF109G and Foke Wolfe FW 190A

Came with one 20mm cannon and two 12.7mm machine guns

Unfortunately it came too late. By the time Yak-3 took to the skies, the war was almost over.

you are wrong the spitfire has tighter turn radius, higher ceiling, faster climb rate, more hp, can fly farther, higher rate of fire, spitfire is just better the yak is a junker.
