Hi Guys,

If you were left with 2 choices of 30cal bullets at cabelas. Which ones would you pick? Hornady 168Grain Match -or- Hornady 178Grain Amax

This is for precision at 600, 700 & 800 yard marks, using a savage 10 1:10 24 barrel

Just looking at one of these 2, nothing else.

Id say forget it. Go to canada ammo and buy some barnes tsx which are currently on sale for 20% off. I think it works out to bring $36 a box and free shipping if you buy $200 of them.
 
Yeah well Cabelas has them barnes tsx for $1.50 cheaper than canadammo right now this weekend too, And I am standing right here and holding them.

No way to tell which one your rifle will like better until you try them.

Try stopping by P&D and see if they have the bulk bags of 200 pieces, last ones I grabbed were Hornady 168gr HPBT match. I think it was $68 but that was a while ago and prices keep rising.
 
I would choose the 178grn Amax as well. A little better SD for extended range.

Another bullet I have been getting good results with is from Tradex. The Privi 178 grn HPBT Match bullet they offer very reasonably.
