If you were to purchase 4 single-shot rifles, what calibres would you choose?

22LR, (in a 1885 Low Wall),
221 Fireball (in a 1885 Low Wall), although I just picked up a Ruger No.1S in 218 Bee
6.5x55 (in a Ruger No.1 RSI), and
338 Federal (in a Ruger No.1).

.223 rem
375 H&H
270 win/308/300 win(longer range option)
shotgun or rimfire

The above spread is all commonly available and covers all your firearm needs for north america nicely.

I think I would have the calibers I mention earlier but as for model and makes, it would à Ruger no1 of some sort for sure, then there would be a Hagn for sure and a Merkel k5 and maybe a Dakota 10 or and other break open/Kipplauf like a Blaser or an other Euro made rifle!

Single shot… so rimmed might go well:

1. .22LR for small game, practice.
2. .22 Savage Hi-Power for a varmint/coyote thing.
3. 7x57R for deer, and capable of bigger things if the bigger gun is undergoing work or loaned out.
4. 9.3x74R for bigger things, but also likewise suitable on deer.

I already have 2 of them:
303 Brit (Martini Enfield) and 45-70 (Pedersoli Sharps), so I would add:
375 H&H, and
458 Lott
Probably both in Ruger No. 1's (drool...)

Have G1 Contender 17 HMR 22LR 7X30 Waters 45-70
Pro hunter 17 HMR 338 Federal
TCR 83 223 243 270 30-06
Savage 219 22 Hornet 30-30 12 gauge 20 gauge
Think I would like 6.5x30 for the Contender, 7-08 for the Pro hunter and a 410 for the 219 or a 45-410 for the Contender

I think you have all your bases well covered! :)

I have a start.
G1 contenders
30-30
44 REM mag
375 Winchester
I am still undecided on my next caliber. 7 TCU would be a possibility or 7-08.

Yes I agree you have a very good start what I see is missing is a 309JDJ barrel I hear from a reliable source that there is one for sale on the EE.

Unfortunately the 7-08 won't work in a Contender pressures are to high for it.

One of my favorites is my 21" 7-30 Waters Contender barrel gives me 2500fps with 139gr SST's
