X2, I was wincing when I saw the post title, but you did a real nice job on it. I'd take that out hunting with me, how's the accuracy and weight of it?

In my 20s I would have said cool, but at 49, I say..........................................................................................................................................sorry, I had to go take an antacid:)

I am generally a purist when it comes to what I have on the racks in the cave, but that actually looks good!...A bit of updating and you have a dandy little deer rifle...I'd hunt with her!

Some guys actually like to work on things and save money, a thing that's getting more rare each year but there's still some of us out there!

But a Savage Axis cost $350 at Cabelas.

$400 for the Camo version.

I would have just bought an accuracy international and called it a day

+1 Sometimes its all about budget and the near impossibility of saving up the cash to buy the end goal all at once. Personally, I like to tinker and to me that's half the fun. Even at the expense of you could have bought a better rifle in the first place. In the end, you get what you want and the satisfaction of doing it yourself. The camo is not quite my cup of tea, but I can appreciate a job well done. Instantly reminded me of US Special Forces jungle camo from Vietnam.

Its all ati gear I bought as a package from another cgn'R. I could of easily went out and bought a hunting rifle, but I like to tinker and build with my guns. This thing and my 870 get the most attention. I think im gonna add some brown and bashe? to break up the shape of the gun.

Hey guys. I changed my 1942 Mosin Nagant, into something else. ATI stock, cut the barrel down to 20", tapped the receiver for a scope mount, and put a scope on it. Also did a bit of painting, and decided with this paint scheme.

Also, do you think I need to add anymore colour for the camo? I'm going for a woodland kinda thing. Also, how can I take my shiny bolt, and make it permanently black?

I am not a Mosin fan at all, and this one I like! Well done.

It's a Noisy Maggot (yes, I know, I have a 39 Mosin Nagant, I just like calling it that lol) that looks damn good IMO.

OP, it's your rifle, do what you want with it.

I like it. How does it shoot with decent ammo?? (I hear Hornady Vintage Match is pretty good stuff - I haven't tried it yet in my Mosin, I'm a cheap prick!!!lol)
