I had a Backpacker, plan to get another one sometime. They shoot High (or low, can't remember) but I was going to compensate for that by adding a reddot. I took mine to the skeet club one day and the onl;y way I could hit anything was by extending my arm and shooting one handed. I think it has mostly to do with the taper of the bbl and the short sighting plane. A higher bead would probably work well.

Yea, they shoot high. I'd also like to see a higher bead on them. May look weird though, as the bead is already oversized.

As for the pistol grip restricted, um... cheap home defense? Dunno.
As for the backpacker, I think it's a good little gun for very close range chickens and with slugs might just piss off a bear long enough for you to use your real gun on it. Plus, it's a fun little gun for the kids to shoot. ;)
 
Yea, kids love it :) Lot's of recoil though and if you shoot it in the evening in low light it makes a BIG fireball.
