Thanks again very much, Clob, the shotgunning gods shall forever smile upon you! :)

I'll post up a new thread as the cleaning and restoration progresses.

Good decision! I assume you are planning on doing that restoration job yourself?

Sharptail / Grouse Man

You guys are a great pair ! :D

Would you mind working the same magic for me ???
Looking for a good "project" AyA No 2 or C Grade Fox in 20ga with
28" barrels !!!

It's hard to think of an English-style side lock being used as a truck gun, but that pretty much describes it's condition. Perhaps Prince Phillip kept it chucked in the back of his Range Rover.

Refinish the wood, clean the metal and action, dissolve the rust spots on the barrel, and I'll have a quality shotgun that I will never have to worry about scratching or denting while hunting.

This thread makes a good story. I am also interested in seeing the final result of the restoration.

When I go visit my folks for Christmas, I'm going to need to post some pictures of two of my Dad's shotguns, that neither of us know too much about. One is a 16 gauge SxS hammer shotgun, and the an Italian (I think) O/U, with a name that we haven't seen in books (if my memory serves me correctly - Kasnar Fias?) Dad would be thrilled to get some background on them.
