I'll be darned...dyna bore coat

Buddy shared his Bore Coat with me and I scrubbed the bore for an hour and a half before applying.
This is my hunting 30-06 and it copper-fouls more than I would like.

Here's how patches soaked with Hoppes #9 and Sweets 7.62 (copper cleaner) looked like after 20 rounds following the Dyna Bore Coat.
(them patches were used in order from left to right.)

I'll draw my conclusion after the next trip to the range.

Just cleaned my CZ 527 223. It used to take 10-15 patches at 6 times a patch to get the gun clean after running 40 rounds of norinco through it. I ran 80 through yesterday, and Another 20 the week before, and some other handloaded rounds as well before this cleaning. It only took one patch being run through 6 times to clean it. was still shooting 1/2" groups with the norinco at 100 yards at the end of the day. Killed a lot of gophers too...

Ok, the results are in:
after 3 trips to the range and about 100 rounds down the pipe, Dyna Bore Coat did nothing for the copper.
Moreso, based on visuals there's more copper in the bore.

It is completely impossible for a bore that has had it's imperfections filled with ceramic to foul more then the bore with imperfections prior to that. The only logical conclusion is that you didn't apply it correctly or didn't clean down the bare steel prior to applying it.

This is usually the case when guys don't see much benefit after applying the coating. You can always re-apply properly, and try again.

The odd barrel legitimately is unaffected by the coating, however, so it's not always a case of mis-application.

I would re-coat and try again. Make sure you follow the cleaning and degreasing instructions to a tee before applying the coating.

I found the same thing. Redid the coating and nothing better then before. I havent cleaned it in a few boxes of ammo now because it takes hundreds of patches and days to clean. Oh well I guess
