Illuminated retical options

Whats everyone's opion on a 20 power scope illuminated moar reticle,lightweight 50 mil tube. Have a SHV and I sightron scope I'm gonna sell to get something illuminated. Drives me nutz at prime time you pull down on a elk or moose and have to guess where your cross hairs are. Under 2 grand price range

I’ve got 5 rifles with the MOAR reticle. 4 are illuminated. The little 3-10x42 SHV is a great little scope for a big game gun.

I had two SHV scopes and really liked them. The illumination definitely helps especially with dark backgrounds like hemlocks and pine. Those few minutes both first and last light are also nice. Bears ,moose and I assume elk would make an unlitreticle tough to see in certain conditions!

Is the illumination brightness adjustable on the shv?

I have illuminated reticles but find the light they cast to be sometimes ‘dirty’ in the viewed image. If an option of optic exists in your quality and price range, i think a ‘firedot’ would be useful.

If I remember correctly the SHV I had with illumination was the moar reticle with the center illuminated only. The intensity was adjustable as Smokinyotes replied!
