*Sigh*, Just got off the phone with Marstar.... M-305 is on the way.

:D :D :D

Anyone know where a guy can get a nice wood or composite pistolgrip/thumbhole type stock for these units? Time to start planning the accessorizing :dancingbanana:

P.S. They picked up after one ring on the first call ;) For those wondering, it says "Sold out" on the webpage but the guy said he's got a few left. Came to about $455+ shipping (hopefully not more than $25)

If there's still a part (other than the receiver) that says made in China, you're taking a needless risk! Remember only you and Uncle Sam can stop your #### from falling off!

you shouldn't even try it without all the mods in the book. What if it shoots good, and you start modifying it (which you will do - guaranteed) and see a drop in accuracy?

It happened to me. The chu wood stock /iron sights right from the factory was giving me better results than the camo-painted-USGI-stocked-cheeckrest-lifted-SEI_mounted-Highpriced-scoped-and-so-on-rifle.

Took it to the range yesterday and I got 2" horiz and 3" vertical groups with it. Ammo: Portugese 147 FMJ.... Might be the mag feeding (I forgot my mags home, so I fed it one by one  ) or just a plain bad day.
I asked a bench shooter to try it, to see if it's just me and a bad day, but he got the same. The best grup of the day was 1.5x2.5" elipse. All groups were 5 shot, not 3.. no cooling.
I got to load some #2200 and try it again, maybe it just did't like the ammo with the new setup...... Now what? :runaway:

Careful feeding it "one by one" - the M1A/M14/M305 is designed to have the bolt strip and carry a cartridge as it goes forward.

If you load a round into the chamber by hand and let the bolt slam closed there is some risk of a slam-fire, because the bolt is moving faster when it isn't retarded by the cartridge. Since the firing pin is loose inside the bolt it keeps moving when the bolt stops upon hitting the breech, and... bang!
