I'm a beginner, what are the three best guns I should buy?

Im just getting back into it again after a decade or so. I got a
.223 bolt action with decent scope
12ga 18.5" shotgun
Semi auto .22lr rifle

Above post would also get my recommendation, as a great start.
Sks
Shotgun
22

.22 Marlin 715 or 60, semi-auto
.308 Weatherby Vanguard, Rem 700., or Win. 70 bolt action
12 gauge 870 Rem.
If you can get early models in excellent condition, all the better.

Okay I'll bite. Any bolt action rimfire that fits your budget. To practice cheap. Learn proper safety and skills.
Any bolt action .270 win to learn recoil and improve trigger control. And to hunt if you want. Everything can shoot paper.
Any lever action cuz F--- ya they are fun and have practical use.
You will most likely own all of these types in various makes and change calibers based on purposes. My personal choices are only limited by budget and availability. If there was a fourth choice it would be a classic 410/22 for those little walkabouts and some mountain chicken.
Good luck with your choices. Cheers.

Don't buy 3 guns without knowing what kind of shooting you are interested in.

If you wanna get your feet wet and learn the basics, I would suggest something like a CZ 457 Lux as many disciplines of shooting use bolt action rifles, you can learn iron sights and later mount a scope and learn to use that, .22 is no recoil, .22 shooting even at a 100yards will help you learn to read wind and compensate for bullet drop, and .22 is cheap to shoot - so you can go and shoot 100+ rounds every session!

Enjoy.

100% agree

There is no best 3 for a new shooter as budget is usually the foremost constraint.

The top 3 beginner or entry level firearms would include something like the following.

1. Semi Auto .22, cheap, ammo is dirt cheap, non-existent recoil.
2. Bolt action .223. Affordable rifle and ammo, learn the fundamentals of using a bolt action with scope. You're shooting a centrefire cartridge but again no recoil.
3. Pump Action 12 gauge Shotgun. Versatile, durable, can shoot trap and skeet, can hunt small game to big game (shot, 00 Buck, Slugs).

As a beginner, you probably want to consider re-sale value - chances good that you will not end up with, what you started with. Despite saying that, I still have the Ruger 10-22 that I bought in late 1970's - so is not carved in stone that you will sell the first ones that you buy. I have had really good luck with second hand guns - often sold by people who have not fired them much - but also need to consider whether they were maintained (oiled or cleaned) at all, for the years they were previously owned. You can buy new cheap guns - that will get you some sort of warranty coverage. Or, you can buy similar quality used, should be for half or less the purchase price - but no warranty. Or, for about the cost of "new" and "cheap", you can likely find "used", but MUCH higher quality - again, no warranty. Up to you what is important to you. Is typical for a three gun set, to start out, you likely want a .22 Long Rifle rimfire, a centre fire rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun. There are multiple variations / multiple price levels of each. It will become like a "rabbit hole". Much depends on where you chose to live; what you plan to do with them. Some may decide for their purposes that a .17 HMR or 22 Magnum is better choice than 22 Long Rifle; they are like 50 (or more) centre fire cartridges to chose from; at some point you may decide .410, 28 gauge or 20 gauge shotgun is suitable instead of 12 gauge shotgun.

In my opinion

If you are just looking for fun guns to shoot while you learn the basics and not invest alot
- Ruger 10/22
- SKS
- some cheap shotgun

If you want to learn to shoot well and have firearms you will never NEED to replace
- an accurate bolt .22, maybe a CZ
- a Tikka T3 in something in the 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 7-08 .243 power range
- a decent pump shotgun Remington or Mossberg with a longer barrel

I'd suggest:

1) Ruger American rimfire- bolt action 22lr
2) Sks
3) either a Remington 700 in 223, or a pistol caliber carbine in 9mm like the Ruger PCC.
For starter optics you can't go wrong with the Bushnell TRS 25, or the vortex strike eagle low variable powered scope.

Lots of guys may suggest a shotgun, but in my opinion they're not a good first choice because they can have punishing recoil if you don't pick the right ammo, or the right gun to suit you. That's for down the road once you get experience.

Coming from a guy who has gone through at least a hundred guns trying to find what I liked. Once you decide what you like doing, you can branch out from there. Just my worthless nickel.
